Basal Insulin Types
A basal ("background") insulin is meant to hold you flat around the clock — but most don't actually last a full 24 hours the way people assume. Compare each type at a correct dose and watch blood sugar drift up as the shorter ones wear off. Only degludec (Tresiba) truly covers a whole day; for the rest, a second daily shot closes the gap.
